Barrett Powell began his career in the early 1980s where he founded various technology and software companies and was key in taking a number of them public and selling them to larger companies. He was responsible for technology and consulting with Hewlett-Packard Manufacturing facilities. He acted as a senior consultant to IBM's National e-Business Practice and oversaw their internet marketing strategy internationally. Barrett holds numerous internet patents, including being the co-owner of the Interactice TV patent, which allows cable, satellite and broadcast companies to leverage web technology to provide interactive programming and commerce capabilities.
